Elaine Patricia Boisvert Born: April 14, 1925 — Died: February 21, 2026
Elaine Patricia Boisvert, a cherished mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and the steady matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2026, at the age of 100. Born in Detroit on April 14, 1925, Elaine lived a life defined by resilience, grace and devotion to the Lord and those she loved. She was married to her beloved husband, Gaston Boisvert, who preceded her in death in 1968. Elaine will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the kindness she extended so naturally to everyone around her.
Life and Character
Elaine’s early years were shaped by the hardships of the Great Depression and the uncertainty of World War II—experiences that instilled in her a deep sense of perseverance and perspective. Throughout her life, Elaine always looked ahead, meeting life with a steady resolve and quiet dignity and grace. Those who knew her will remember the unmistakable twinkle in her eye—always paired with a quick wit, a ready smile, and a sense of humor that remained with her throughout her life.
Elaine had a discerning appreciation for the arts. She found joy in opera, classical music, and film, and she loved sharing those experiences with friends and family. Grounded in her faith, Elaine was deeply devoted to her church community, giving countless hours in service at the church food pantry and offering help to others with humility and compassion
Her professional life included a long and dedicated career in construction administration, a role she embraced well into her retirement years. She valued the camaraderie of those that she worked with and took pride in the work she accomplished alongside them.
In her later years, Elaine remained active with a full weekly schedule of volunteering, exercising, and socializing, all while undertaking substantial projects like hand knitting an afghan blanket for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also continued to delight in the arts and rarely missed her beloved New York Times crossword puzzles or a good jigsaw puzzle. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and lifelong friends. Watching her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren grow brought her immense pride and joy. Her kindness, patience, and gentle presence left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
Family
Elaine is survived by a large and loving extended family, including many nieces, nephews, great‑nieces, and great‑nephews. Her immediate family includes her four children, listed from oldest to youngest, and their families:
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston Boisvert (1968), and her son, David Boisvert (2018).
