Born on October 26, 1968, in Trenton, Liz made an indelible mark on her community as a behavioral health nurse for 13 years. Her compassion for others was evident in both her personal and professional life, touching the hearts of countless individuals she cared for. Liz held an Associate's Degree and dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of those she encountered.
Liz cherished her family above all else. She was married to her beloved husband, James Adkins, for almost 35 years, building a life filled with love and shared dreams. Their bond was the kind that stood the test of time, grounded in mutual respect and deep affection. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Brandon (Danielle) Adkins and Tyler (Kaitlyn) Adkins, both of whom made Liz immensely proud. Her pride and joy were reflected in her adoration for her grandson, Riley Adkins, whose laughter and spirit brought untold happiness into her life.
Liz is survived by her loving husband James, her sons Brandon and Tyler with their wives Danielle and Kaitlyn, and her cherished grandson Riley. She is also survived by her mother, Carol Ross, and her brother, Dennis (Harmoni) Eggert, along with his son, Dennis Eggert, Jr., and her niece Ashlee (Donnie) Eads. Liz's loyal dog, Maggie, also remains a testament to her nurturing soul, as it was evident that Liz loved unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her dear sister, Jeanette Molina-Harris, a loss that deeply affected her heart.
Throughout her life, Liz found great joy in connecting with friends. The many loving and dedicated friends she accumulated over the years played a vital role in her journey, providing support and laughter even in her hardest days.
Liz's family invites you to celebrate her life and legacy. Visitation will be held on June 29, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. A Nightingale Nurse's Honor Guard service will begin at 5:00 p.m. that evening, immediately followed by the funeral service.
As we grieve the loss of Elizabeth Adkins, let us also remember the joy she brought to our lives. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, whose lives were dramatically enriched by her love, compassion, and unwavering strength.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Kidney Foundation in Liz's honor.
