Elizabeth (Betty) Louise Aronson, age 88, a woman of boundless love and kindness, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 11, 2026 at the University of Michigan Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her son David Aronson, grandson Colin Aronson and granddaughter’s Angela Douglas and Emma Aronson. She is survived by her two siblings Ann Butine and John Butine, her children Mary (Charles) VanHoorelbeke, Daniel (Connie) Aronson, Heidi (Jeff) Douglas, Damien (Leslie) Aronson, Paul Aronson, Michael (Shirley) Aronson, and Jason (Laura) Aronson, 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. We remember Betty’s kind smile, warm and welcoming eyes, the love she had for everyone in her life, and her ability to make you always feel welcomed and loved. She was a devoted Catholic who spent most of her career working for St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. After the closure of St. Timothy’s, she joined Our Lady of the Woods and was an active member of the congregation. She frequently volunteered to serve as a lector and helped to serve in the distribution of Holy Communion. She was an avid Tigers fan who enjoyed attending games and always made sure to tune in whenever they played. Her favorite player was Riley Green. She was a prolific seamstress and started sewing when she was a little girl with her mother and older sister. Her first project was a broom skirt. She volunteered her skills to sewing hospice bears, dresses for church mission work, wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, dolls, and custom pieces in between the many alteration and minor sewing requests from her family and friends. She enjoyed wine, chocolate, symphony music, flowers (specifically lilies and tulips), playing Kings Corners, and spending time with her family and friends.
