Ella Forshee

Ella was born in Motherwell, Scotland in 1922 and was the tenth child of William and Sarah Fraser. She moved to Chicago with her Mother in 1925 and then to Grosse Ile when she was 13 years old and lived on Grosse Ile for the rest of her life. She married Willis Forshee in 1940 and they had two children, Glenn (Mitzi) Forshee and Diane (Randy) Guttridge. Ella was a member of the "Islanders" theater group and enjoyed roles in many plays over the years. She was an avid golfer, boater and bridge player. She was also an active member of St. James Episcopal Church. Ella and Will were members of the "Nomads" travel group and traveled the world after Will retired. She also has four grandchildren Matthew LaCourse, Jennifer (Andy) Hutchison, Jacob (Karilu) Forshee and Grant Forshee and four great grandchildren, Chloe Hutchison, Emma Hutchison, Macy LaCourse and Meryl LaCourse. Memorial Service May 9th 10:30 am at St James Episcopal Church, Grosse Ile. Contributions in memory of Ella's life may be made to the church.
