Ellis Faye Ackerman, age 89 of Maybee, passed away October 12, 2025

Born August 6, 1936, in Maybee, Faye was the daughter of Felix and Nina (Rehberg) Hutchinson. She married the love of her life, Richard “Bob” Ackerman, on January 29, 1955. Sadly he preceded her in death February 22, 2014Faye dedicated a significant portion of her life to a fruitful career in Medical Records at Wellspring Lutheran Services. Her meticulous attention to detail and compassionate demeanor made her a beloved colleague and confidante. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Faye was a proud graduate of Dundee High School and attained her Associates Degree from Monroe County Community College, showcasing her commitment to education and personal development.  

Her involvement with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee and the Christian Mothers demonstrated her deep faith and commitment to her community. As part of her service, she organized the flowers for the church altar, a task she approached not just as a responsibility but as a labor of love. Growing her flower garden brought her great joy, and she took pride in sharing the beauty of her blooms with family and friends.

Family meant everything to Faye. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Debra McClain, Robert (Andrea) Ackerman, Charles Ackerman, Linda Pacheco, Thomas (Susan) Ackerman and Laurena (Joe) Charles; as well as her sister, Delores Kaye Eachus. Her legacy continues through a proud lineage that includes sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother William Hutchinson.

While Faye will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her, her spirit will undoubtedly continue to shine in the lives she has touched.

A celebration of Faye’s life has been planned under the care of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes-Liedel Chapel; 9061 Raisin St., Maybee. Friends may call Wednesday (today) from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A celebration of her life will be Thursday. She will lie in state form 10am until a Mass of Resurrection at 11am from Divine Grace Parish-St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow next to her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery in Maybee.

As we remember Faye, let us carry forward her love for family, her commitment to her community, and her unwavering belief in the beauty that life can bring.
