Eric Randall Fritz, affectionately known as "Randy", beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, in his home in Brownstown, Michigan, at the age of 74. Born on June 1, 1951, in Detroit, Randy was a hardworking and dedicated family man whose life was marked by love, service, and perseverance.
Randy proudly served as President and as an owner of both Fritz Enterprises Inc. and Huron Valley Steel Corp., where his unwavering commitment and work ethic contributed to his success in the business world. He was a well-respected figure in the scrap metal industry and his community, known for his integrity, kindness, and generosity.
Anyone that knew Randy, knew that he had a deep love of the outdoors and was an avid hunter and conservationist. Quite an accomplished hunter, actually. He also had a deep, deep love of auto racing, and his favorite place to go was always the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The month of May was a very sacred time for him and our family. He made friends that became family in both of these hobbies of his.
Randy's devotion and passion for life did not end there. He cherished his wife, Christine Fritz, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Together they built a warm and loving home filled with laughter and joy, a true testament to their enduring partnership. He was a loving father to his daughter, Erica (Kerry) Lang, and son, Leonard (Karen) Fritz, generously nurturing their dreams and ambitions.
As a grandfather, Randy took immense pride in Gage, Ty, Lenny, Katie, and Natalie, each grandchild holding a special place in his heart. The arrival of his great-granddaughter, Zora, brought him unparalleled joy and marked the continuing legacy of love within his family.
Randy was also a caring brother, remembered fondly by his siblings—Karen Fritz, Douglas (Amy) Fritz, and Elaine Fritz. Additionally, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom he touched with his heartfelt presence.
His journey through life was not without heartache, having faced the tragic loss of his daughter, Amanda Fritz, and grandson, Michael. He also carried the memory of his parents, Leonard and Irma Fritz, and his brother, Louis Fritz. In the face of loss, Randy remained a pillar of strength for his family, often reminding them of the importance of resilience and love.
Randy proudly served in the United States Navy, instilling the values of duty and honor that he carried throughout his life. His vivacious spirit, friendship, and selfless nature left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know him.
