Eric Paul Herrero, of Woodhaven, MI, passed away on October 4, 2026 at the age of 59. He was born on October 19, 1966, in Trenton, Michigan.
Eric will be remembered as a man who made friends with ease and who was always ready to help those in need. Finding faith shaped the way he saw the world, and from that renewed outlook came a deep desire to serve others with kindness, compassion, and generosity. He found joy in going to church and volunteering there, living out the care he felt for the people around him.
He also embraced life’s simple pleasures with enthusiasm. Eric was a devoted Michigan State Spartans fan and enjoyed travelling, gambling, and a shared love of antiquing with his wife, Laurie, where he was affectionately known as “Eagle Eye.” He had a special passion for hot rods, sports cars, and trucks, interests that reflected his energy and appreciation for craftsmanship and style. He devoted his professional career as an operator and truck driver through the county.
Above all, Eric treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Laurie Herrero, with whom he shared 28 wonderful years of marriage. He also leaves behind his step-daughter, Jamie (Bryan) Jager, and he was a proud Papa to Jackson and Landon Jager. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa (Martin) Llanos, his parents, Henry and Charlene Herrero, his niece and nephews, Nina, Ruben, and Carlos, who knew him as a loving uncle along with countless friends, cousins, brother and sister in law's, aunts and uncles, and Laurie's nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather for visitation on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. A funeral service will follow there at 7:00 p.m.
