Eugene "Gene" Morelli

Eugene (Gene) Morelli (October 7, 1941-May 6, 2023) “Don’t weep for me, I’m

playing 18 holes with the most phenomenal players and always hitting under my

age.” I enjoyed a fulfilling career as a secondary math teacher and elementary

school principal, giving me life long friends. Spent many years, cooking up a chili

storm with a beer in my hand.

But, I have left the best for last… my family. I married Linda, who shared with me

the family that I always wanted. I was blessed with a daughter, Kristyn, and a son-

in-law, Kraig Wilson. They gave us the greatest gift of all in twin daughters,

Macee and Hollee. The many precious moments with them became part of my

very being. My girls provided many wonderful memories and the usual

challenges. How proud I was of them and their many accomplishments.

The family unit also provided me with a partner, Kraig, to go to as many University

of Michigan games that we could possibly go to and a continuous conversation

about “what’s right and wrong” in college sports, players, coaches and games.

GO BLUE is forever my motto.

Life is also full of surprises. Yes, the loss of my wife Linda brought many tears, but

a new beginning with my wife Mary, brought me warm moments, belly laughs,

new friends and sunshine golf in Florida. Together we accepted the challenges of

Parkinson’s, but never allowed it to dominate.

So, you see.. God spared me a suffering life, but in return, I had to return to Him

early. Never spend a day without praising God, loving your family and having a

BEER!!

Morelli, Eugene 81 of Spring Hill, Florida, formerly of Riverview, Michigan passed away on Saturday, May

6, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frank, daughter Kristyn Wilson (Kraig), granddaughters, Macee

and Hollee Wilson, sister Carol Hudson (Craig), niece, Shawna (Troy).

Visitation will take place on Friday May 19th, 2023 from 4:00pm- 9:00pm, Scripture Service 6:00pm, at the Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd., Trenton, MI 48183. The family will receive friends on Saturday May 20th, 2023 from 9:30am until time of Mass 10:00am, at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 13249 Pennsylvania Rd., Riverview, MI 48193. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Cemetery, Brownstown Twp., MI
