Eva Petterle, née DePaoli, born July 12, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026. She was a beloved member of her family and community, remembered for always cooking great Italian meals and steadfast devotion to those she loved.

Eva was the cherished wife of the late Bill Petterle. She was born to Guiseppe and Alba DePaoli and was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ecsedi and brother, Roy DePaoli. Throughout her life, Eva remained deeply connected to her roots and family values, which guided her through many years with grace and strength.

She is survived by her sons, Perry (Barbara) Petterle, Brian (Laura) Petterle, and Tom (Susan) Petterle. Eva’s legacy continues through her five grandchildren, Nicole, Justin (Rochelle), Blake, Julia and Lauren, and great-grandchildren Carter and Lenox all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She leaves behind a family that honors her memory and carries forward her spirit.

A memorial mass in honor of Eva will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, with an instate at 9:30am and mass beginning at 10am. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer in loving memory of Eva Petterle.
