Evist James Brinson, a beloved figure in the Monroe community passed away on December 31, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy of heartwarming memories from all who had the joy of knowing him. Born on March 9, 1954 in Monroe, Michigan. He was the son of Evist and Alberta (Young) Brinson. Evist lived a life filled with love for his family and a dedication to his career and community.
A graduate of Monroe High School. Evist's professional career began early on with Chrysler car manufacturer and later with TWB Company LLC. He navigated his career with commitment and skill remaining grounded and true to his values.
Beyond his career, Evist was a professional boxer, winning a Toledo Golden Gloves bout on March 3, 1973 and was an avid roller skater winning many trophies. He was a 'Vibe' always creating and sharing with friends and family unforgettable moments that will be memories forever. His family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his sons, Robert Brinson, Jason (Chiquita) Brinson, Marcus Brinson, Evis (Alicia) Brinson, LaVar (Angie) Brinson, and Jymar (Nicole) Brinson. Evist was the proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren, each of whom brought profound joy to his life. He held close ties to his brother Charlie Brinson and sisters Dorothea Moss, Ruthann Brinson and Sharon Mosley, who were always by his side through life's journey. Evist was not only a father and grandfather; he was also a devoted member of Christ Love Fellowship Church. Guided by the Lord, he found faith in the service and fellowship of others.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as two siblings; Kent Brinson and Darlene Heckel. Their legacy lives on through Evist's unwavering spirit and love that he shared with all.
