Francisco D. Marroquin

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Francisco Marroquin, on August 6, 2025, at the age of 102. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and his love for music and especially for his love for family.

Loving husband of 48 years to the late Ahida Alicia Marroquin. Beloved father of Alma Marroquin, the late Carlos A. Marroquin, Maria (Gregorio) Aguilera, Marco (Irazema) Marroquin. Proud grandfather of Carlos Marroquin, Luis Marroquin, Angela Marroquin, Antonio Santos, Santino Aguilera, Selena (Derek Burbank) Aguilera, Marco Marroquin Jr., Mariana (Mario) Gonzalez and Gabriel Marroquin and great-grandfather of Carlos Marroquin Jr., Adriana Marroquin, Anthony Miller, Alexis Marroquin, Aaliyah Marroquin, Layla Marroquin and Mirella Gonzalez. Great-great grandfather to Kenzi Marroquin-Tafoya, Lylah Tafoya, Israel Tafoya, Levi Mckee and Elena Marie McClellan.

Francisco loved music and singing. He sang and played guitar for the Spanish masses at both Holy Redeemer and St. Anne's Church of Detroit. We remember his music and singing to us for all of our birthdays and holidays. He also led a very active life, exercising every day. He was an avid bike rider, runner, swimmer, and in his later years took to jogging then walking. His love of music, exercise, time with family and God kept his mind and body young.
