Listen to Obituary

Frank Pizzo, 71, of Trenton, Michigan, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on June 22, 2026 in the city of his birth.

Born on August 23, 1954, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Frank lived a life defined by his family, lifelong friendships, and faith. He was a devoted father, papa, and friend. Frank’s captivating sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him.

Francis Bruce Pizzo was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Pizzo; his mother, Sandra Pizzo; and his sister, Pamela (Al) Geluso. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Jacquelyn (Christopher) Liphardt, Janice (Erik) Shultz, Julianna (Andrew) Crawley, and God daughter Corrie (Late Steven) Kettler. He also leaves behind his beautiful grandchildren, Benjamin, Amelia, Lucianna, Harrison, Hazel, Leo, and Isabelle. Also survived by his siblings, Christine Pizzo, Nick (Debbie) Pizzo, Steve Pizzo, and Angela (Les) Ferris, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A gifted athlete, Frank was a standout high school football player, and a well known member of the Trenton High School class of ’72. He earned recognition for his accomplishments on the field and continued his football career at Central Michigan University. A true lover of sports, and especially sports history, he found great enjoyment in being our go-to sports encyclopedia. Let us not forget his love for golf, and the times shared on the course! Frank worked in the produce business alongside his two brothers and father for the majority of his career. Anyone who knew him knew he was a great storyteller, and he never spared giving a compliment from the heart. Whether sharing memories, recounting family history, or telling one of his favorite jokes, he had a way of bringing people together through laughter. His quick wit, infectious smile, and zingy one-liners will always be unforgettable. As a lover of movies, he had an uncanny way of remembering lines unlike anyone, quoting them for humor and wisdom to all that he loved. He was gifted and intelligent, passionate about music and history, and taught his children and grandchildren lessons to carry through life. Frank was a man who was truly proud to be Sicilian and was a lover of Sicilian cuisine, especially Spiedini.

Frank and Carolyn shared the blessings of raising three daughters together and a lifetime of memories. They had a strong bond and remained connected through their daughters and grandchildren. Frank's faith in Jesus Christ in recent years brought him strength and hope and his family takes comfort in knowing he is at peace and reunited with loved ones who went before him. Frank was the man with nine lives. His family watched him overcome unbelievable physical circumstances with unmatched strength and determination, all with an air of gracefulness and quiet power. It was nothing short of extraordinary. Above all else, Frank’s greatest pride was family. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, siblings, and friends, and he cherished them beyond measure. The morning coffee dates with his longtime buddies were always one of the highlights of his week. Frank Pizzo will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends.
