Fred R. Cox

Fred R. Cox, born February 20, 1967, passed away on June 9, 2026. A skilled carpenter by profession, Fred dedicated his talents to his craft with care and precision. Beyond his work, he was a man whose greatest love was his family, especially his cherished grandchildren. He also had a deep passion for NASCAR Racing, which brought him much joy throughout his life.

Fred is survived by his beloved children: Aliya Cox (Tim Towery), Devin Cox (Michaela Pietsch), and Fred Derry. He was a devoted Papa to Audrey, Emberlee, Gage, and Gavin, who were a source of immense pride and happiness for him. His mother, Nancy Kay Mendenhall, continues to hold his memory dear, as do his brother Charles (Sandra) Cox and his nephews Ryan, Justin, Douglas and Dylan. along with his niece Jazmyne. Fred was also surrounded by many other loving family members and friends who cherished his presence. He will be deeply missed by his faithful dog, Nova.

Fred was preceded in death by his father, Fred Raymond Cox, who surely watches over him with enduring love.

A visitation for Fred will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, located at 10915 Allen Rd, Allen Park, MI 48101. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life on the same day beginning at 5 pm at the same location. These gatherings will offer family and friends the opportunity to remember and honor Fred’s life and legacy.

Throughout his life, Fred’s family remained his proudest accomplishment. His devotion to them and the joy he found in each moment spent with his grandchildren are lasting tributes to the man he was. His dedication as a carpenter and his enthusiasm for NASCAR Racing were also reflections of his focused spirit and zest for life.

Fred’s warmth, commitment, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy endures in the lives of those he touched with kindness and strength.

Visitation is on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 2 pm until 8 pm at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard) Allen Park, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held the same day, Friday, June 12, 2026 at 5 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made as the donor chooses.
