Gail was a force all her own. She lived life on her terms. She could charm strangers easily but chose to live a private life with just a few precious confidants. Her most favorite past time included laughing with her family & friends, often at the cost of breathing and incurring belly aches. She never tired of indulging her children, spending hours playing on the floor with them and reading their favorite stories. Snow days and summer breaks were never long enough. She showered her children with all the love she had as they grew into adulthood. 

Her faith, always at the heart of her actions, carried her through the cherished moments and the trials of life. 

Gail was proud of her education in the healthcare field, graduating with honors as a registered health information technician. Across the span of her career she worked on collecting data for breast cancer studies to working in trauma registry. 

She treasured time with the company of her oldest friends; Turner Classic Movies, caffeine and nicotine.

Gail Marie Colton passed away on August 27, 2026 at the age of 68. She was preceded in death by her mother Nora Sucharski, father Robert Sucharski, and brother Robert Sucharski. 

Gail is survived by her sisters Deborah and Deanna, and brother-in-law Timothy; Children Sarah (Christopher), James (Heather), Melissa (whom she loved as a daughter), and former son-in-law Jay Zapico; Her beloved dog Gracie and parakeet Mister.

She will be deeply grieved by her friends and extended family; Also her tobacco shop, who, without Gail, will likely go out of business.
