Garry K. Alderman

Garry K. Alderman, born on November 18, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on November 16, 2025, in Trenton, Michigan. Garry was a man of profound dedication, warmth, and creativity, whose impact on those around him will be cherished and remembered fondly.

A respected figure in the community, Garry had a fulfilling career in social work with the State of Michigan, where he devoted 30 years before retiring in 2002. His empathy and commitment to helping others marked his professional journey. After retiring, Garry and his beloved wife, Sharon, ran “Weddings & More” in Riverview for 17 wonderful years. His passion for capturing life’s most precious moments extended beyond business; Garry was also an accomplished wedding photographer, documenting hundreds of weddings and thereby playing an integral role in the joyous days of many couples and families.

Garry’s personality shone brightly in his personal life. He adored his grandchildren and made it a point to attend every event possible, ensuring he was present to celebrate their achievements and milestones. He leaves a legacy of love and devotion to his family, which included his wife of 56 years, Sharon Alderman, formerly Casper. He is also lovingly remembered by his children: Sheri Alderman, Keith (Kristyn) Alderman, Brad (Sara) Alderman, and Adam (Megan) Alderman, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Brett, Emily, Jacob, Isabel, Cecilia, Caiden, and Colton. Garry also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly. Garry is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Eleanor Alderman.

Visitation services for Garry will be held on November 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. A final service will take place the following day on November 22, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM at the same location.

Garry K. Alderman will be remembered not only for his professional achievements and dedication to family but also for the love and joy he freely shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
