View Video Tribute Gaylord A. Klancnik, 60, of Carleton, died Monday in Berlin Township. Born Aug. 2, 1945, in Detroit, he was the son of Edward M. and Elizabeth (Trokel) Klancnik. He worked for the Ford Motor Co., retiring in 2002. He was past master of the Findlater Lodge 475, Free & Accepted Masons, in Lincoln Park. He also was a lifetime achivement recipient of the Michigan Polka Hall of Fame and a member of both the Cleveland-Style Polka Music Hall of Fame and National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences. Surviving are his wife, Anna; his mother; a son, Edward; a daughter, Laura Klancnik, and a brother, Kenneth. He was preceded in death by his father.
