Giovannina Battistella

Giovannina Battistella (Joann), age 94 of Monroe Mi. passed away peacefully on Thursday Feb. 7, 2019. Joann was the loving wife of the late Aldo Battistella. She was also the dear mother of 3 daughters- Karen, Kathleen, and surviving daughter Denise Battistella Kraus. Joann is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grand-children. Joann was a retiree of Ford Motor Co. and was active in both the St. Michael's parish of Monroe and Our Lady of the Woods in Woodhaven. Joann resided for the last 5 years at Sanctuary at Marion Place in Monroe. The staff and residents there were her 2nd family and were much loved by Joann. Joann loved playing bingo, going on outings, and always enjoyed happy hour. She was voted Ms. senior Monroe county in 2018 at the age of 93. She touched many lives during her time here. She was full of spunk and life, much loved by her family and friends, and will be much missed and never forgotten. Memorial service to be held at St. Michael's Catholic church - 502 W. Front street in Monroe. Service to be held on Tues. March 5th. Greetings begin at 9 am, followed by the mass at 10 am. Immediately following the mass, there will be a celebration of life luncheon held at Sanctuary at Marian place, which is located at 408 W. Front street- right next to St. Michael's.
