Glenn D. Spry, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a pillar of the Trenton community, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, in Trenton. He was 89.

Born on April 16, 1936, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Glenn proudly served his country as a Navy veteran and devoted his professional life to public safety. As Trenton’s Fire Chief, he led with distinction and compassion, earning deep respect from his colleagues and the community he so faithfully served. His decades of leadership left an enduring legacy within the department and beyond.

Glenn’s impact extended far beyond his career. A man of many interests, he was an avid photographer and waterfowl decoy carver, who saw beauty in everyday life and found joy in capturing it. Glenn’s warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Nancy Spry, with whom he shared a life of unwavering love and partnership. Together, they raised a close-knit family, grounded in strong values and deep affection. Glenn leaves behind two sons, Scott (Pam) Spry of Milford, Massachusetts, and Jeffrey (Cindy) Spry of Pinckney, MI as well as his cherished grandchildren: Erin (Bryan) Mueller, Amanda (Nick) Robinson, Blair (Max) Dues, Brooke Mayrand, and Megan (Otto) Black. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Elle, Avery, Griffen, Theodore “Teddy”, Eliza and Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Almer Clayton Spry and Blanche Eleanora (Milliman), and his beloved daughter, Jill Mayrand, whose memory remained ever close to his heart.

Glenn will be remembered not only for his service and accomplishments but for his kindness, humility, and the steadfast love he gave his family and community. His presence was a gift, and his memory will be cherished always.
