Glenn M. Waddell, dearest father, loving grandfather, beloved son, devoted partner, and cherished family man, passed away peacefully at home in Southgate, Michigan, on June 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 28, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Glenn’s life was woven through with love, laughter, and a steadfast commitment to the people who meant the most to him.
From his earliest days, Glenn held a deep appreciation for the bonds of family, nurturing relationships that grew and flourished over the years. Those closest to him will remember Glenn for his unwavering support, his gentle wisdom, and the warmth that seemed to radiate naturally from his presence. Through life’s joys and challenges, he was a pillar of strength and kindness—a touchstone for those who knew him best.
Glenn leaves behind his devoted spouse, Lois Waddell. Glenn is also lovingly survived by his children; Karen (Danny) Cordell, Renee (Gary) Yuhaz, Michelle (Kenny Crawford) Waddell, and Matt (Debi) Waddell, his step-children Kathryn (Terry) Anderson, Allan (Fern) Jensen, and Barbara Martin, as well as his numerous grandchildren; Jessica (Carl), Brett (Gina), Michael (Madison), Devin (Alondra), Sarah (Luke), Jeremy, Cole, Madison, Ethan, Nolan, and Jayne. His siblings; Michael (Denise) Waddell, David (Mary) Waddell, and Craig (Kim) Waddell, and lastly, his great-grandchildren; Damian, Scarlett, and Grant. Each of these names carries stories lovingly intertwined with Glenn’s own—a testament to the indelible mark he left on the people around him.
While Glenn’s journey on this earth has come to an end, he is now reunited with loved ones who preceded him in death, including his son Derek (Elaine Carr) Waddell, his parents William and Barbara Waddell, his siblings Danny Waddell and Diane Waddell, and his beloved granddaughter Molly Felty. Their memory endures in the hearts of those who remain, and Glenn’s legacy continues to shine brightly through the generations he helped guide and nurture.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Glenn’s life during visitation on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at The Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 10915 Allen Rd, Allen Park, MI 48101. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held at the same location on June 26, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Glenn will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Cemetery, 18303 Allen Road, Brownstown, MI 48193, with a burial service commencing at Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:30 a.m.
As we bid farewell to Glenn, we carry forward the gifts of his wisdom, his laughter, and his unending devotion to family. Though he will be deeply missed, the echoes of his love will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have shared in his remarkable journey.
