Helen Marie was born on January 18, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan and died on October 6, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Wyandotte at the age of 98; she was of Newport. Beloved wife of the late William. Loving mom of George (Judith), William, Elaine (Klaus) Cherski, Major David M. (the late Peggy) and Patricia Felthaus. Dearest grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 13. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Visitation is on Thursday from 5 – 9 pm with a Vigil Service Thursday at 7 pm and on Friday from 2 – 9 pm all at The Ford Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 23620 N. Huron River Dr., Rockwood. Helen Marie will lie in state on Saturday at 10 am at St. Charles Catholic Church, 8109 Swan Creek Road, Newport until the Funeral Liturgy which will begin at 11 am at the Church. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
