Helen Newboles, a beloved matriarch and dedicated member of her community, passed away on March 9, 2026, at Symphony Applewood in Woodhaven, Michigan. Born on January 23, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, Helen lived a life rich with experiences, love, and kindness.
Helen devoted many years to her career, retiring as a bookkeeper, a role in which she exemplified diligence and precision. Her commitment to her family was immeasurable; they were the cornerstone of her life. She cherished her two great grandsons, Ryder and Rorey, who brought her immense joy and were a source of vitality in her later years. Helen's family included her children, Sandra (John) Wodka and Bruce (Jan) Newboles, as well as her grandchildren, Robert "Robbie" (Reanna), Luke, and Patrick and her great grandsons, Ryder and Rorey. She is also survived by her dear grand-dog, Cooper, who provided companionship and warmth.
A woman of vibrant spirit, Helen was known for her active participation in the Brownstown Seniors and as a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she contributed to the Church Food Distribution Program for many years. Her enthusiastic involvement extended to the Senior Olympics, reflecting her unstoppable nature and love for community engagement. Helen found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as her morning routine of enjoying a Bob Evans Sausage Biscuit, a small but meaningful tradition that brought her comfort.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Dean, her parents, John and Elsie (Stoppel) Albu, and her siblings. While she will be greatly missed by all, her legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Funeral services to honor Helen's life will be held at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, in Trenton, Michigan. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by her funeral service on Friday, March 13, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM; Pastor Katie Butler will officiate. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown, Michigan, the same day.
Helen leaves behind a legacy of love, community service, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
