Irene M. Langton

Born in Detroit, Irene was the daughter of Austin & Agnes (Traeder) McCutcheon. Irene came to Monroe at the age of 8 as a resident of St. Mary Academy Boarding School and was a graduate of the 1933 class. She married the love of her life, Charles W. Langton on October 27, 1945 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Sadly he preceded her in death November 4, 2003. In her younger years, Irene worked at Monroe Paper Products and Consolidated Paper Company but quickly dedicated her life as a full time homemaker. She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society as well as Frenchtown Senior Citizens. Irene leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Charles (Joy) Langton Sr. of Newport, Edith Langton of Monroe and Patricia (Allen) Bressler of Newport; six grandchildren: Lisa (Daniel) Sinnott, Amy (Robert) Johnson, Charles Langton Jr., Meghan Langton, Kyle Langton and Lauren Langton; four great grandchildren: Emma Sinnott, Ava Sinnott, Jordan Johnson and Jared Johnson; as well as a brother Melvin McCutcheon of Lansing. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Allen McCutcheon and a great grandson Lucas Langton. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Irene's memory are asked to consider Mercy-Memorial Hospice or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
