Jackie Pangborn, née Lopaska, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, in Trenton, Michigan. Born on August 23, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a beloved resident of Trenton for over fifty years, where she dedicated much of her life to the community she deeply cherished.
Jackie’s professional journey was marked by unwavering commitment and dedication. She devoted over thirty years to teaching at St. Joseph Catholic School, shaping the minds and hearts of countless students with her passion for education and nurturing spirit. Beyond the classroom, Jackie also served the City of Trenton, working within city hall and actively participating in the organization and facilitation of the city’s elections, demonstrating her steadfast dedication to civic engagement and public service.
A lifelong learner and avid traveler, Jackie’s enthusiasm for exploring new places enriched her life and broadened her horizons, a testament to her boundless curiosity and vibrant spirit.
Jackie is deeply mourned by her sons, Cameron Pangborn and Brian (Jamie) Pangborn, and her beloved grandsons Jacob, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Corbin. Their love and support remain a source of comfort during this difficult time.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Pete (Kathy) Lopaska, and her parents, Peter and Evelyn Lopaska, whose memories she cherished throughout her life.
The community will honor Jackie’s remarkable life and legacy with Mass service held on May 21, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 2623 3rd Street, Trenton, Michigan 48183. The in state will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m., providing an opportunity for all who knew her to come together in remembrance and prayer.
Jackie Pangborn’s enduring commitment to education, civic duty, and family leaves an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. Her memory will be treasured, and her spirit continue to inspire those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
