James D. Fowler

James David Fowler passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 66 in his home in Brownstown, MI. Born January 5, 1958 in Trenton, MI.

A gathering to honor Jim’s life will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Martenson Funeral Home, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. Jim's ashes will be placed in the garden of St. James Episcopal Church, Grosse Ile, MI 48138 at a date to be determined.

Jim was married to Beth Fowler for 46 years and together raised sons James V. Fowler and Derik Fowler. He was preceded in death by his mother Maria; survived by his brother Stephen Fowler, children James and Derik, daughters-in-law Crystal and Jordan, and grandchildren Kaydin, Blake, Jax, and Parks.

Jim retired from truck driving after more than 30 years on the road, working for Miles Trucking, R&M, and Quality Carriers. He was beloved by his grandchildren and known as the baby nap whisperer. All of his grandchildren found him irresistible to nap on and with. Jim spent his retirement years traveling with his wife, enjoying time with his family, and spending time with his Elba Mar Family.

A member of Elba Mar Boat Club for 30 years. Jim with the help of Beth ran the flags at Elba Mar Boat Club and was Commodore in 2002. In 2023 he achieved perfect attendance for poker runs supporting his son Jim during his Fleet Captain year.
