James "Jimmy" Matejko

James "Jimmy" Matejko, age 55 of Wyandotte, passed away Sunday May 17th, 2026.

Jimmy Matejko was Dad to Amanda (Brian) and Ian, Bonus Dad to Emily (Zac). Proud Puppa to Olivia and Chase, Baby son of Jo Anne, Little brother to 7. Crazy Uncle of many nieces and nephews and honorary uncle to many. A brother-in-law. A cousin. Best friend. Dog Dad. A good buddy to many. A soccer, baseball, basketball and football coach.

Jimmy loved God. his family, his dogs, anyone he gave a nickname to, the outdoors, hunting, bow fishing, carpentry and woodworking, leather working, gardening (don't touch the tomatoes!), cooking and grilling, skateboarding in California, podcasts, Sasquatch, good music of all genres, conspiracy theories, fixing ANYTHING, my blueberry muffins, time at the farm in Dundee, our good neighbors, a good steak, telling all the old stories of growing up the L.P. (couldn't ever drive through without several), his childhood friends, his work buddies, but mostly, Jimmy loved me. I was the love of his life. I was his true North. We were together 30 years, through the best and worst times, as we promised. Every space in our home was created by his hands. I will miss him telling me how to do everything. I will miss a thousand things about him but mostly, dancing together in the kitchen and him always filling the coffee pot with water. (The things you take for granted...)
