James L. Outland

James L. Outland, born on October 22, 1946, passed away on March 4, 2026. He was a beloved father and Papa, known for his love of life and dedication to his family.

James was the proud dad of Elizabeth Bear and Adam (Wyann) Outland. His grandchildren, Emily, Noah, Jacob, and Olivia, were his world, bringing him immense joy and happiness. James also treasured his six nieces and nephews, sharing special moments and memories with them.

In addition to being a family man, James enjoyed golf and playing the guitar. He had a passion for history, always eager to learn and share stories from the past.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Outland, who he cherished dearly. He was also preceded by his siblings, Gloria and Robert, and his parents, Lowery and Jennie.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. This will be followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM at the same location.

James L. Outland will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to his family, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
