It is with great sadness to announce the passing of
James Andrew Rotay: Dec 12th, 1965, to Aug 3rd, 2025, 59 years Old
James Rotay is survived by his three brothers Christopher Rotay, Robert Rotay, William Rotay and two sister in-laws, Susan Rotay and Dina Rotay. He is also survived by two nieces Rachel Rotay and Rebecca Rotay and cousins Michele Klinkman, Michael Klinkman, Susan LaCroix, Larry Hunt and Tom Hunt.
James, known affectionately as Jimmy, had many extraordinary talents. He grew up in Allen Park Michigan and stayed locally in Southeast Michigan his whole life. He showed great artistic talent at a young age with both music and art. He was always drawing, painting and sculpting and continued with this passion for most of his life. He specialized at a young age, playing brass instruments and was a member of the Allen Park High School band. However, he was especially known for his love of drumming and was a member of many bands where he was the lead drummer as well as a paid studio musician. James was a brilliant student that graduated with a BFA from Wayne State University with honors and achieved a near 4.0 GPA.
James was a compassionate and generous individual who had a way of counseling others that was powerful, emphatic and meaningful. He regularly emphasized his belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ and recently spoke to several family members about forgiveness and to not hold grudges.
Jimmy will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
