James Francis Wobbe, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on March 7, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, James dedicated his life to family, service, and his various passions.
A proud veteran, James served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him values of duty, honor, and bravery. He carried these values into every aspect of his life, especially within his cherished family.
James was devoted to his wife of 61 years, Linda Wobbe, whose love and companionship enriched his life. Together, they nurtured a family filled with warmth and support. James took great pride in his children, Heidi (Scott) Eichert, Kevin Wobbe, and Mark (Jennifer) Wobbe, forging lifelong bonds rooted in love and respect. In his later years, he delighted in the joys of grandparenthood with his grandchildren, Emily Eichert and Noah Eichert, who brought him immense happiness and pride.
Beyond family, James had a tender heart for animals, especially his pets and his dog, which were constant sources of joy throughout his life. He was also an avid fan of Neil Diamond, whose timeless music resonated deeply with him.
James is survived by his loving family, including his wife, children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his siblings, Merle (William) Wojciechowski, Maxine (George) Wilson, and Noel Wobbe, who will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Visitation for James will be held on July 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to celebrate his remarkable life and legacy.
James Francis Wobbe will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to family, his courage, and his ever-present kindness. His spirit will live on in the memories shared by those who loved him.
