Janis Lorimer

Janis Lorimer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. Born on May 25, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, she enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, bowling, being a Girl Scout leader, and cheering on her family at Special Olympics, marching band competitions, and swim meets.

Janis was a loving wife to Robert Lorimer for almost 54 years, and a proud mother of two daughters, Lori and Viki (Mark) Metric. The joy of being a grandmother was evident in her love for her grandsons, Matthew and James Metric, who brought her immeasurable happiness. She loved spending time with family above everything else.

Janis is also remembered as a loving sister, survived by her brother, Gregory Carr, and sister-in-law Penny (the late Randall) Carr. She is preceded in death by her late parents, Donald and Anetta Carr, and her sister, Nancy (the late Richard) Parker.

A memorial gathering to honor Janis's life will be held on August 31, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes in Trenton, Michigan. This gathering will be a time for family and friends to reflect on her life, to celebrate her spirit, and to share memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.

Janis Lorimer's life was one of compassion and generosity, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
