Jean Bostwick (née Schave)
Born December 9, 1935, in Wyandotte, MI, Jean Bostwick lived a life filled with faith, love, and devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward, and her son, Joseph.
Jean was the proud matriarch of a large and loving family. She was one of seven siblings and was preceded in death by her brothers Leo (Johanna), Richard (Mamie), and sister Leona (Steven). She is survived by her siblings Rosemary (Robert), Dan (Beverly), and Linda (Robert). Jean is also survived by her devoted children Catherine (James), Mary, Thomas (Shelly), and Diane (Dave).
She was the cherished grandmother of six: Anita (Ed), Carrie (Jeremy), Amy, John (Tiffany), Kelly (Tim), and Joseph (Kelsey). Jean took immense joy in being the great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren: Aryana, Kate, Brianna, Lilly, Grady, Sloan, and Scotlyn.
Jean's faith was the foundation of her life, and she always trusted in God's plan. She was rarely without her prayer book and rosary, and her steadfast devotion was a guiding light for her family.
A talented seamstress and crocheter, Jean created countless cherished blankets and quilts to welcome new babies and bless homes. Her handmade birthday cards were a special tradition, known and loved by everyone. She had a passion for the arts, particularly children's theater and musicals, and enjoyed sharing these experiences with her family. Jean had a special bond with her great- grandchildren, always listening to their stories and encouraging their creativity.
Jean's love, creativity, and unwavering faith will remain a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Trenton Chapel of Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 3200 West Road, 48183. Jean will lie in state at St. Joseph at St. Vincent Pallotti Parish located at 334 Elm St., Wyandotte, MI 48192 at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026. The Mass of Resurrection will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Huron Twp.
