Listen to Obituary

Jeanette Olivia Deller, a loving matriarch and dedicated community member, left this world on her 86th birthday, October 19, 2025. Born in 1939, she filled her years with passion, service, and love, creating a legacy that will be cherished by her family and friends forever.

A beacon of light at the Faith United Methodist Church, Jeanette was not only a bookkeeper but also an inspirational leader. She was instrumental in establishing the Jeanette O. Deller Library and creating an Educational Scholarship Fund that has touched countless lives. She actively participated in the Ladies Guild and Church Women United, always extending her hand to those in need within her community. As a fourth grade teacher, her proudest accomplishments included implementing the Trenton Science Fair at the Trenton Schools and using the excitement of the Alaskan Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race as a unique method to engage her students in learning geography.

Jeanette had a zest for life that mirrored her love for adventure. She and her beloved husband, Paul Deller, traveled the world together, always finding joy in each new experience. On the golf course and at home, she had a playful competitive spirit, known for creating a danger zone whenever someone challenged her to a game of Scrabble.

Jeanette's family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her stepchildren, Drew (Kim) Deller, Steve (Julie) Deller, and Diane Hansen, who hold her memory close to their hearts. Her love extended to her grandchildren: Christopher (Elena), Joseph (Natalie), Patrick (Meredith), Ashlee (Tom) Scodari, Paul (Leissan), David (Erica), Daniel (Stacey), Elisabeth, and Kelly Hansen. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and love, enriched by the stories and lessons she shared throughout their lives. Her great-grandchildren, Sterling, Kylee, Violet, James, Eleanora, Rosalee, Ainsley, Teagan, Cora, Gideon, Henry, Dawn, and Aiden, were the light of her life, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.

Jeanette also leaves behind her sisters, Charlotte Walker and Pam Price, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember her kindness, wisdom, and strength. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Paul Deller, her siblings Norman Husted, Valerie Husted-Schwartz, and Roger Husted, and her parents, Elmer and Bernadean Husted.

Her memory will be celebrated during visitation on October 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, all held at Faith United Methodist Church in Trenton, Michigan.

Jeanette Olivia Deller may have departed from this earthly realm, but her legacy of love, faith, and community service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
