Jeanne V. Bessette

Bessette, Jeanne V. Age 90. August 15, 2017 formerly of Lincoln Park. Jeanne was born in St. Thomas, Ontario and grew up in Windsor, Ontario. Beloved wife of 69 years to Don. Loving mother of Cherie Bessette, Lynne (Bill) Morande, Dale, Donna (Steve) Pachy, Tim (Vicky) and Rob (Marisol). Proud grandmother of Jeanette, Trey, Amy, Brandon, Nathan, Lexie, Jeralyn, Brittany, Katie, Lindsey, Tiffany, Travis and Tyler. Also survived by her great grandchildren; Kylie, Brenton, Brandon, Mitchell, Preston, Owen, Carson and Liam; 1 great great grandson Camden and 1 brother Thomas Rycroft. Preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Helen (nee: Grantham) Rycroft and 1 brother Larry Rycroft. Jeanne worked for the Detroit News and retired in 1989; she enjoyed spending weekends at her home near Jackson and was active with the D of I and the L.O.T.A. Jeanne spent many years as a volunteer at Henry Ford Wyandotte hospital and her true love was singing with the Sweet Adelines. Visitation is Friday from 2 – 9 pm with a Rosary Friday evening both at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard). Jeanne will lie in state at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Lincoln Park on Saturday from 9:30 am until the Funeral Liturgy which will begin at 10 am. Interment Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
