Jerry Perna, a beloved figure in the lives of many, was born on February 10, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan. He was a dedicated produce manager for Farmer Jack and Kroger, where his commitment to quality and service earned him the respect of both colleagues and customers. Jerry's professional life was marked not only by hard work but also by a genuine passion for connecting with people.
Jerry was not only a man of industry but also a person of many interests. He was an avid bowler, earning the nickname “Doctor” amongst friends, a testament to both his skill on the lanes and his vibrant personality. Music was another one of Jerry's great loves; his flair for playing DJ at parties and events allowed him to share joy and create memorable moments for all who attended. These talents reflected a larger theme in Jerry’s life: a deep love for his family and the many connections he forged throughout his time.
He cherished every moment spent with his daughters, Diana (Douglas) Restum, Nicole Perna, and Chris (Sara) Perna. Together they built a tapestry of memories filled with laughter, love, and mutual support. As a proud grandfather, Jerry found immense joy in the company of his grandchildren, including Alyson (Dennis), Sara, Jeremiah, Lena, Bryanna, Joshua, Jayla, EJ, and was overjoyed to hold the titles of great-grandfather to Vanessa and Mitchell. The bond he shared with his family brought him endless happiness and fulfillment.
Jerry’s spirit will forever be missed and treasured by those who knew him. He is survived by his loving family, who grieve his passing but also celebrate the rich life he lived. His memory will be honored during a visitation on November 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM on November 24, 2025, both taking place at The Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes in Allen Park, Michigan.
Jerry was predeceased by his dear sister MaryAnn, father Fiorello Perna, and mother Nancy Noce, each of whom contributed to the loving man he became. He was also deeply saddened by the loss of his best friend, his cherished dog, Skeeter. Though he is no longer with us, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a zest for life that will resonate in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come.
