Jerry Wayne Rhinehart passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, going to be with the Lord at the age of 75. He was born on September 18, 1950, in Waynesboro, Tennessee, and later grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where he built a life full of love, hard work, and integrity.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Jerry served his country with honor and dedication. Following his service, he built a remarkable 40-year career as a skilled Millwright with Chrysler, working alongside his JNAP family—a group he held close to his heart.
Jerry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Elizabeth Rhinehart, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years until her passing in 2006. Together, they created a beautiful life centered on family, love, and faith. A devoted husband and father, Jerry leaves behind his cherished daughter, Scarlet Rhinehart.
Known for his charismatic personality and sharp wit, Jerry was admired for his intelligence, strong will, and unmatched work ethic. He had a heart of gold and was always quick to lend a helping hand or share a good story.
Jerry’s passions reflected his soulful spirit—he loved bluegrass music, playing guitar, fishing, hunting, carpentry, walking in nature, and spending time at the casino. He also fond of animals and enjoyed caring for cats and dogs.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Rhinehart; his parents, Alton and Mildred Rhinehart; his brothers, Kerry and Jimmy (Skinny) Rhinehart; his father- and mother-in-law, G.T. (Duby) Moore & Emma Pearl McIntosh; and his sister-in-law, Wilma Holder.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Scarlet Rhinehart (partner Catt Hazelton); his brother, Dexter Rhinehart; and his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Darlene (Leaner) & Eimad (Emmett) Fakhouri, Rita & Robert (Fot) Rathbone, Howard "Punk" Holder, Ricky Moore, Rex Bullman, and George Moore. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Ridge Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 2272 W. Jefferson Ave Trenton, MI 48183. There will be a funeral service at 4:00 pm.
Jerry’s kindness, generosity, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit, laughter, and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Rest peacefully in Heaven, Jerry. Your life and love will continue to shine through all those you touched.
