Jewel Ann Jones (née McKeirnan), born on July 28, 1954, in Missouri, passed away at her home in Lincoln Park, Michigan, on July 3, 2026. She was 71 years old.

Jewel’s life was one marked by resilience, dedication, and a deep commitment to her family. Born to James Strother and Loretta (McKeirnan) Strother, she carried forward a legacy of strength and kindness that shaped both her character and the lives of those around her. Jewel loved to spread the word of God with everyone she came in contact with.

Throughout her years, Jewel built a remarkable presence within her family and community through her unwavering love and steadfast support. She was the cherished mother of Joseph Jones and Jessica (Mario) Chavez, who survive her, along with being a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Paige, Joseph, Jr., Eric, Mario, Jr., Marisa, Miranda, Julia, and Raymond, as well as her great-grandchildren Emma, Silas, Malachai, Josiah, and Amaya, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.  She is also survived by her son-in-law, Raymond Baldridge.

Jewel faced the loss of her beloved daughter Jessie, her parents James and Loretta, and her husband Charles with remarkable strength and dignity, exemplifying her faith in the Lord and resilient nature to her family and friends.

Her home was a place of warmth, filled with the laughter and love of several generations. Through every challenge and triumph, Jewel’s support and guidance were constant and invaluable to those who knew her best. Her presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit continues in the memories and traditions she passed down.
