Joan L. "Momma Jo" Jester

Joan L. “Momma Jo” Jester, age 84 of Monroe., passed away February 18, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Born June 5, 1937 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Albert Reed and Elizabeth Banks. After graduating from Monroe High School, she would work for many years at the Ilgenfritz Nursery in Monroe, where she met her husband, the late Dorsey L. Jester, Sr., whom she would later marry on December 3, 1960. Together they raised 5 children Patricia (Arley) Harris, Jr., Shirley (Richard) Chambo, Lisa (Cedric) Kilgore, Dorsey Lee (Trula) Jester II, and Stephanie (David) Stoner. Proud grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 26, and great-great grandmother of 1. Joan is also survived by her brother Ronald Reed. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her father Sherley Banks, brother Robert Reed, and sisters Joyce Meyers and Judy Liedel. In her spare time, Joan enjoyed crocheting, crafts, playing cards, and also had a green thumb with flowers. She was also known in the CB radio world as “Lamp Light”. She will be missed by all who knew her. Including her beloved dog Lucky.
