Minnick, Joan Lucille. Aged 91, passed March 14, 2026 in Trenton, Michigan. She was born November 3, 1934 in Detroit Michigan, the daughter of Thomas Baker Bennett and Blanche (Boutilier) Bennett. She was raised in Saline and Lincoln Park, Michigan. In 1953, she married Richard Glenn Minnick in Lincoln Park. He predeceased her in 2000.
Joan was an intelligent woman who possessed a lifelong love of learning. She taught her daughter and granddaughters that books are a door to many worlds. She and her husband were successful antique dealers for over 40 years. In addition, Joan was an accomplished gardener and talented craftswoman whose hand-hooked rugs are works of art. She was a fantastic cook who loved serving fabulous meals to family and friends.
She adored her little dog, Buddy who was her companion of many years. Survivors include her daughter, Pam Minnick of Trenton, granddaughters Laura (Christopher) Ake of Woodhaven and Sarah (Daniel) McCann of Lurgan, Northern Ireland. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Maggie McCann and Brady Ake, beloved nephews Dan and Greg Bennett, of Saline, and her dear cousin, Janet Boutilier, of Carleton.
Per her wishes her remains have been donated to the University of Michigan Medical Center. No services have been planned. Those inclined may make a donation in her name may do so to St. Croix Hospice.
