Joann Therese Trouten, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on August 2, 1936, she was the oldest of 16 children of Charles and Claribel (Eckert) Morris. Joann lived a life filled with love, dedication, and resilience.
Joann Married the love of her life, Robert F. Trouten on December 31, 1953 here in Monroe. Sadly he preceded her in death October 19, 2015.A proud graduate of Monroe High School, Joann's dedication to her community extended through her long and fulfilling career with the Monroe County Friend of the Court, from which she retired in 1992. Her compassionate nature and commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on those around her.
Joann was not just a professional; she was a vibrant part of the fabric of her community. As a Life Member of the Monroe VFW Post 1138 Auxiliary, she devoted herself to honoring and supporting veterans and their families, establishing connections that fostered solidarity and strength among her peers.
Joann’s family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her loving daughters, Janet (Ronald) Schultz and Sheri (David) Bennett. Joann was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, and her heart swelled with joy as she embraced 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Joann was born into a large family and shared a special bond with her siblings. Joann is survived by: Penny (Robert) Hoffman, Sandra (Ronald) Lavigne, and Darlene (Roger) Jennings. Together, they created countless memories that enriched their lives.
Though she experienced the profound heartache of losing her daughter Vicki A. on July 28, 1966 and several siblings—Shirley Hoffman, June Jennings, Robert Morris, Linda Heikkila, Patricia Walker, Larry Morris, Mary Lou Gleed, Sally Estes, Barbara Hardy, Gary Morris, Charles Morris, and Ronald Morris
Joann's spirit was defined by her strength and resilience, reminding all who knew her of the beauty of life and the importance of family. Joann Therese Trouten will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we come together to remember her, we honor the remarkable woman who touched our hearts and our lives in immeasurable ways.
