Joe A. Valade Jr., a dedicated educator and beloved community member, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on December 4, 1940, in Wyandotte, Joe devoted his life to the education and betterment of young minds, leaving a lasting legacy that touched many lives.
Joe’s career in education spanned several decades, beginning as a teacher at Hedke Elementary and Monguagon Middle School in Trenton, Michigan. His passion for teaching and commitment to student success were palpable in every classroom he entered. Recognized for his leadership and vision, Joe ultimately served as principal of Owen Elementary School in Trenton, where he continued to foster an environment of learning, encouragement, and growth.
His contributions to education in the Trenton Public Schools were significant, reflecting his deep dedication to the community that shaped him. Joe’s work inspired countless students and colleagues, enriching the educational landscape and leaving an enduring impact.
Joe is survived by his brother William (Robyn) Valade; as well as nephews Zachary and Alan Ciochetto, who remember him with great affection. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Valade Sr. and Annie Valade, whose love and guidance helped shape the man he became.
Family, friends, former students, and colleagues are invited to honor Joe’s memory at a Memorial Gathering on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, starting at 10:30 AM, both held at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, Michigan 48183.
