John D. Fitzpatrick

John Denis Fitzpatrick, age 69, passed away on December 26, 2020 in his daughter’s home in Hampstead, North Carolina. John was born on August 22nd, 1951 to Timothy James and Kathleen Marie (Dennehy) Fitzpatrick. He attended St. Vincent de Paul Grade School and Cardinal Stritch High School. He was married on April 7, 1972 to Joanne Marie Tscherne at St. Vincent De Paul Church, Toledo, Ohio. John and Joanne built a beautiful family with 6 children: Christy (Josh), Christopher John (Kallie), Lisa (Scott), Rebecca, Elizabeth (Matthew), and Timothy (Renee). After 30 years of marriage, Joanne preceded John in death on September 12, 2002. John was always the life of the party, a proud father, and a lifelong Detroit Red Wings fan. He was a dedicated grandfather to his (soon-to-be) 17 grandchildren (Zane, Wade, Alexis, Dylan, Zoey, Carter, Sophia, Miller, Reese, Madison, Parker, McKenzie, Connor, William, Thomas, Cooper, baby-to-be). John is also survived by his devoted brothers, Timothy (Terri), Michael (Sherry), James (Karen), Daniel, Gerald (Janet) Fitzpatrick, sister-in-law, Cathy Fitzpatrick, brother-in-law David (Becky), sister-in-law Debra (Reed) and sister-in-law Barbara. John is preceded in death by his parents, Timothy James and Kathleen Marie (Dennehy) Fitzpatrick; grandparents, Willis and Martha Fitzpatrick and Cornelius and Eileen Dennehy, sister, Mary Anne Fitzpatrick and brother-in-law Steven. Visitation is on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 9 am until 11 am at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI. John will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2565 3rd Street, Trenton, MI on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 11:30 am until the time of the Funeral Liturgy at 12 pm. Interment Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown Twp., Michigan.
