John William Hollar, age 92, was joyfully welcomed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on December 14, 2025, just days before his 93rd birthday. He was born on December 20, 1932, in Osborne, Missouri, and lived a life marked by faith, service, and love.
John spent most of his years in Allen Park, Michigan, where he raised his family and served faithfully in his community, later residing in Marietta, Georgia for five years. He shared 58 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, G. Margaret Hollar, a partnership grounded in devotion, laughter, and unwavering faith.
John was a loving father of his children, Julie Hollar Bernick and James A. Hollar. His role as “Grandpa” brought him great joy, and he delighted in his grandchildren, Rogan Bernick, Uma Hollar, and Ava Hollar. He is also lovingly remembered by many extended family members, dear friends, and his church family, all of whom were blessed by his warmth and testimony.
John’s life reflected a heart for service. He honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and later answered a calling to education. After earning both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Central Missouri State University, John devoted 30 years to teaching in the Michigan public school system, shaping young lives with patience, integrity, and compassion.
Above all else, John loved the Lord. While his absence will be deeply felt, his family rejoices in the promise of eternal life and finds comfort knowing he is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have surrounded them with prayers, love, and support. Your kindness has been a blessing during this season of remembrance and celebration.
