John Joseph Mansfield, AKA Johnny, of Taylor, passed away November 10, 2022. Loving husband of Melanie for 23 beautiful years. He is survived by his mother, Kathy Case and his brother, Mike (Bonnie) Mansfield. He is preceded in death by his father, Frederick Mansfield and his sister, Christine Mansfield. He leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to cherish his memory.
John attended University of Michigan where he received his Bachelors Degree and Engineering of Science Degree. He later attended Wayne State University where he received his Master’s Degree. He worked at ZF, formerly Kelsey Hayes/ TRW, as a mechanical engineer.
John loved to watch any sporting event, and would call himself a “sad Lion’s fan.” He played football as a kid. He enjoyed a good home remodeling project. Most of all, he cherished all of his friends. He would do anything for anyone and was always willing to help with any kind of project. Without hesitation, he was the type to drop everything and come to support. He had a very tough exterior but he had the biggest heart. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will take place at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes- Allen Park Chapel on Saturday November 19, 2022 from 2:00 until 9:00 pm. Pastor Jeremy Schossau will lead a funeral service at 7 pm on Saturday November 19, 2022.
