Josefina V. DePaz of Allen Park, MI passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 at the age of 96.
The most important thing for Josefina was being with family. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. She enjoyed listening to her music, singing and dancing. She enjoyed being with her sisters and brothers. She treasured being with her grandkids and great grandkids. All these events brought joy and a smile to her face. She had unending faith that guided her throughout her life.
Beloved wife of 69 years to Ricardo C. DePaz (Deceased). Loving mother of Deanna (Louis) Dorantes, Richard DePaz and Edward (Eileen) DePaz. Cherished grandma of Matthew (Elia) DePaz, AnneMarie (Matthew) Eckholm, Louis Dorantes, Michael (Jenna) DePaz, Samuel (Cassie) DePaz, and Marie (Chris) Wurster. Caring great grandma of Addison Eckholm, Sydney DePaz, Evelyn Eckhol Gracie DePaz, Emmett Eckhol, Edward DePaz, Theo DePaz, and Noah DePaz. Loving sister to her 11 siblings, of which five are still with us.
Visitation will take place at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes on Friday, January 2, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A rosary will begin at 5pm. The service will take place on Saturday, January 3, where Josefina will lie instate at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church from 9:30 until the mass beings at 10:00 am. The burial will take place immediately following at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Josefina to Alzheimer's Association.
