It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Peter Yetka Jr., who departed this world on January 7, 2026, at the age of 81, while under the compassionate care of Heartland Hospice at Monroe Springs Rehab and Nursing Center. Born on July 2, 1944, in Detroit, he was the son of Joseph and Lillian (Wehner) Yetka. Joseph filled his time on Earth with love and laughter, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Joseph's life was defined by his profound love for family. He found immense joy in spending time with his loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever. His warmth and kindness touched the hearts of many, fostering connections that were as strong as they were meaningful. Joseph is survived by his devoted sister, Kay Dunbar, along with several beloved nieces and nephews, who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lynne Yetka, whose memories will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those he leaves behind. Each moment shared with Joseph will remain etched in the stories of his family, reminding them of the happy times and the love that enveloped his life.
As we gather to reflect on Joseph's life, let us carry forward his legacy of love and kindness, ensuring that the joy he brought continues to shine in our lives. Joseph Peter Yetka Jr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain intertwined with ours, guiding us as we navigate life's journey.
