Josephine Mizzi, née Young, passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on January 6, 1948, in Rabat, Malta, she lived a life rooted in faith, love, and deep devotion to her family.
Josephine was a devoted Catholic and an extremely loving wife, mother, sister, nana, and great-nana. A dedicated homemaker, she created a home filled with warmth, care, and comfort. She enjoyed crocheting, going to the casino, and shopping, and she also loved cooking, baking, going on vacation, and spending time at the beach. More than anything, she will be remembered for the wonderful care she gave to her children and family. Her proudest accomplishment was her family, who remained the center of her life and the clearest expression of her love.
She now reunites with her beloved husband, Emanuel Mizzi, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Imelda Young, and by her siblings Sonny (the late Janice) Young, Jimmy Young, Joe Young, and Jane Young.
Josephine’s memory will be cherished by her children, Imelda (Eddie) Miracle, Joseph Mizzi, and Emanuel (Jessica) Mizzi. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Emanuel (Ashley) Mizzi, Angelique (Jacob) Barbee, Alexis Miracle, Madison Mizzi, Ciara Mizzi, Trisha Thomas, and Nicole Thornsberry, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Milani, Luciani, Selena, and Angel. She is also survived by her siblings Pauline (Tony) Montebello, William (Linda) Young, Margaret (Gordon) Ray, John (Lacy) Young, and Mary Ehlert, and by her sister-in-law, Maggie Young. She will be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family. Each of them carries forward the love, strength, and tenderness she gave so freely throughout her life.
