Julia Serafin

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Julia Serafin, who left us just one day shy of her 85th birthday, on August 7, 2026. It is difficult to put into words the light she brought to all who knew her—a beacon of warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion.

Julia Serafin’s journey began on August 8, 1941. Over the years, she touched lives with her compassion and her extraordinary capacity for kindness. The world was brighter for having her in it, and her legacy will long endure in the cherished memories of her family and all who were fortunate enough to call her a friend.

Julia’s reach extended far beyond the comforts of home and hobbies. She gave selflessly of her time and talents in service to her community, achieving notable accomplishments that filled her family with pride. As Vice President for the Polish Falcons of America, Julia’s dedication and leadership made a genuine difference, fostering unity and support among those she served. Her role as Treasurer for the Michigan Fraternal Alliance was marked by careful stewardship and a deep sense of responsibility, reflecting her strong moral compass and her caring heart.

The bonds of family were precious to Julia, anchoring her through the ebbs and flows of life. She is survived by her beloved step-sons, Dennis Serafin and Daniel Serafin, grandson David Jr. Serafin, and great-grandchildren Andrew and Patrick Serafin. Julia’s brother, Richard Karpinski, also mourns her passing and recalls the enduring closeness they shared. She was also well loved by many of her nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.

She is now reunited with those she deeply loved who went before her: her devoted husband, Anthony Serafin; step-son David Serafin; and her brothers Edward Karpinski, Donald Karp, and James Karr. Their memories, too, are a treasure and a comfort.

It is in moments like these that we truly feel the depth of our loss but also the richness of the memories Julia bestowed upon us. She will be remembered for her steadfast love, her service to others, and for the simple, joyful acts of kindness that defined her. Those who knew Julia carry her spirit forward—in every loving gesture, in every moment shared, her memory will forever inspire and guide us.
