Listen to Obituary

Kathlyn Andrew, a spirited force of nature, was born on December 22, 1941, in Taylor, Michigan, and peacefully passed away on August 13, 2025, after bravely facing life’s challenges with unwavering strength and determination.

Kathlyn was the founder and owner of a beloved non-profit dance studio, where she dedicated over 15 years to nurturing the talents of children through the magic of dance. Beyond her professional life, she was a devoted matriarch whose greatest pride and joy came from her family. Her deep love for children shone brightly in every celebration she hosted—because to Kathlyn, every moment was worth celebrating.

Known for her legendary holiday parties, she brought her community together with a warmth and joy that only she could provide. With a very real Santa Claus arriving in style and hauling a sack of presents for the children, her gatherings became a cherished annual tradition that welcomed over a hundred guests each year. Her home transformed into a wonderland for birthdays, especially those of her grandchildren, where pony rides, carousels, and bounce houses were just a few of the magical touches she orchestrated. No detail was too small, no dream too big.

Kathlyn was a true spitfire—headstrong, passionate, and fiercely resilient. She met every challenge in life with courage and tenacity, inspiring all who knew her to live with the same bold spirit. Her strength was unmatched, and her presence was a force of love, light, and laughter.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Pamela Marie Duford and Andrea Dale (Chad) Calhoun, and her beloved grandchildren, Michael Andrew Duford and Emilee Alexandrea Duford. Kathlyn was also a proud great-grandmother to Hunter Duford, Riley Duford, and Jaxson Tester, who brought her endless joy.

She now joins in eternal rest her beloved husband, Tex Dale Andrew, their daughter Patricia Sue Andrew, her parents, and numerous siblings.

Kathlyn Andrew leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, creativity, and fierce devotion to family. Her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know her.
