It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kenneth D. Mason, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us unexpectedly on October 23, 2025, in Detroit, Michigan. Born on January 21, 1956, in the same vibrant city, Kenneth lived a life filled with dedication, love, and a deep appreciation for family.
Kenneth spent his career as a machinist in the steel industry, where his passion for precision and quality was matched only by his devotion to those he loved. His work ethic was a testament to his character, and he approached every task with the same commitment that he showed to his home and family.
Beyond his career, Kenneth had a love for music; he found joy in singing and playing his guitar, often sharing this talent with those around him. His tunes would bring smiles and warmth, just as his presence did. Kenneth was proudest of his family and loved them beyond measure. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Stephanie Mason, who stood by his side through every moment of joy and challenge. Together, they raised a beautiful family: their children Dennis (Melissa) Mason, Kenneth D. Mason, Jr., Sarah (Patrick) Knight, and Cassie Mason, who continue to carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.
Kenneth’s joy extended further to his five cherished grandchildren: Kenneth Anderson, Samantha Mason, Cody Anderson, Zoe Anderson, and Zayne Makled. They were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in watching them grow and thrive. Kenneth also leaves behind his brother, Philip (Joan) Mason, who will remember him fondly.
He joins in eternal peace his parents, Edward and Gladys Mason, and his siblings: Oliver Mason, Faye Wilson, Sue Goodin, Charles Mason, and Daryl Mason, who surely welcomed him with open arms. Their family bonds, forged in love and support, will be a guiding light for those he left behind.
Kenneth’s sudden passing has left a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched. His family is comforted by the many memories they shared, and they will gather to celebrate his life in a visitation on October 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at The Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 10915 Allen Road, 48101.
As we honor Kenneth D. Mason, let us remember the laughter, warmth, and love he brought into our lives. He was not just a machinist; he was a builder of memories and a creator of joy. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Please visit Kenneth's online guestbook and tribute wall to share memories and leave condolences for his family.
