Kenneth Oran Walters, a man whose life was marked by steadfast dedication, skilled craftsmanship, and honorable service, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Trenton, Michigan, at the age of 90. Born on September 19, 1935, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Kenneth’s journey through life was one enriched by commitment—to his family, his country, and his vocation.
From a young age, Kenneth demonstrated an aptitude and passion for the electrical trade, becoming an electrician whose expertise spanned every facet of both commercial and residential work. His hands and mind were gifted tools that brought light and power into countless homes and businesses. Yet, beyond his professional prowess, Kenneth’s character was equally illuminated by a sense of service greater than himself. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that spoke to his enduring patriotism and courage.
Kenneth’s personal life was anchored by decades of love and partnership with his beloved spouse, Jane Marie Walters, whose own journey concluded in 2010. Together, they forged a family legacy that continues to bloom in the hearts and lives of their descendants. Though Jane Marie passed before him, her memory remained a guiding presence in Kenneth’s life.
He is mourned and cherished by those who remain among us: his devoted son Kenneth Walters and his wife Tammy, and brother Raymond Walters and his wife Kathy. His family further extends through his grandchildren—Adam and his wife Molli, Kenneth and Adrienne, Jesse and his wife Caitlyn, Jeremy Griffin, Roberta Lambert, Samantha and her husband Nathanael Cook, Nicholas Rowan and Jillian, and Daniel Rowan—each a testament to Kenneth’s enduring influence and love. The blessing of great-grandchildren includes Raelynn, Tayden, Kadynce, Nicholas, Piper, Cooper, Anna, Sara, Mason, Madison, and Marlee, a vibrant lineage that carries forward his spirit and legacy.
The tapestry of Kenneth’s family history also holds poignant memories of those who have passed before him: his sons Keith and Kevin (husband to Ronnie), his brother Edwin (husband to Marsha), his sister Shirley (wife to Don Lawson), and his parents Leo and Margaret Walters. Their presence is felt in the fabric of Kenneth’s story and the lives of those who remember them.
Friends, family, and all who had the privilege to know Kenneth are invited to honor his memory during a visitation on March 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The Trenton Chapel – Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, Michigan. The celebratory funeral service will follow on March 20, 2026, commencing at 11:00 a.m. and concluding at noon, also held at The Trenton Chapel. Entombment to follow at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery.
As we gather to reflect upon Kenneth Oran Walters’ remarkable life, we recall a man who wielded his talents not only as an electrician illuminating our physical world but as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather illuminating the lives of those he loved. His legacy is one of strength, loyalty, and quiet dignity—a beacon that will continue to inspire generations yet to come.
