Lalene May Kidwell

LaLene May Kidwell, age 96 of Monroe, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Born May 22, 1924 in Monroe, LaLene was the daughter of Stanton and Thelma (Metz) Robbins. She married the love of her life, Robert Kidwell, on December 24, 1947. Sadly he preceded her in death February 24, 1985. LaLene worked in Housekeeping for the Holiday Inn here in Monroe for over 10 years, retiring in 1985. A member of Stewart Road Church of God she enjoyed doing ceramics, cross stitch and crocheting, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family. LaLene leaves to cherish her memory her children: Linda Sue (Joseph) Salisbury, Robert Lee “Butch” (Taryl) Kidwell and Michael Edward (Susie Kruse) Kidwell; as well as 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Alta Marie Suydam; 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. A celebration of LaLene’s life has been planned under the care of the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave. Friends may call Friday from 3pm until 9pm. Funeral services will be private. Burial will take place privately next to her husband at Roselawn Memorial Park.
